Remote Operated Vehicle Model

A ROV (remote operated vehicle) is a free-swimming submersible craft that can perform various tasks in the oil and gas industry, such as inspection, repair, intervention, and installation of subsea equipment.

It is controlled by an operator on the surface through an umbilical cable that provides power, communication, and video signals.

ROVs can operate in deeper water than divers and are safer, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly than explosives as seismic sources.
