Gumusut Kakap Semi- Submersible Floating Platform Model
Gumusut Kakap Semi Submersible Floating platform is a deep-water oil and gas production facility that operates in the Gumusut-Kakap field, located 120 km off the coast of Sabah, Malaysia.
It is the first of its kind in Malaysia and Asia, and it can process up to 150,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. It is anchored to the seabed by a mooring system and connected to a truss spar platform that hosts a drilling rig and 25 wells.
The platform was built by Shell and its partners, with the involvement of local companies and expertise.
